YouthSpace

On Sunday 14 September, we celebrated a very special Youth Mass at Sacred Heart Church with a "full house" in attendance. Unbeknownst to the congregation, Dominican Preaching Team: Fr Nick Punch, Sr Joan Buckrey & Fr Mike Champlin were our guest preachers and expounded beautifully the theme of the "Triumph of the Cross". Following the Mass we launched "YouthSpace" our new youth place for High School Age young people (including Yr 7s). 40+ were in attendance with Frs Mike & Nick & Sr Joan addressing the group on the themes of calling and vocation. In addition to this there was food, music, games and a lot of fun had by all. Comments from participants included:

• We have been waiting so long for something like this!
• Excellent! I enjoyed everything! and
• This should be weekly ...

Along with these comments came many others expressing what participants would like to see happen at the next YouthSpace gathering.

The next gathering will be on October 12. 6 pm Youth Mass and 7-9 pm YouthSpace.
